Penny Stock Diabetes Medicines Beer and Erin Brockovich Won’t Cure Diabetes, But This Might By Jim Nelson September 5, 2007 20.8 million, or 7%, of Americans have diabetes, and 1.5 million more are diagnosed every year. With America’s weight problem, this is fast becoming an epidemic. But the real problem is how to treat it.
The medical cost per year in America is $92 billion. The large majority of that is the cost of insulin and self-testing devices. But many Americans are naturally resistant to insulin. In fact, according to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, one out of three Americans are insulin resistant. That means, diet and exercise aside, there’s nothing that can be done for these people. Not true… Chromium is starting to emerge as the scientific breakthrough that can solve this problem. The USDA has stated that chromium is an essential component in every person’s diet. Chromium as a supplement has shown that it helps glucose control in nine out of 10 people. The thing that is most impressive is how well it prevents diabetes. There are an estimated 54 million people in the state of pre-diabetes, which is a state of people with high blood-sugar levels, but not high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes. Chromium has been proven to help along with diet and exercise with reducing the chances of these pre-diabetic people from getting type-2 diabetes. Chromium is even suggested for healthy people to prevent pre-diabetes. Diabetes has genetic ties between family members. And the fact that one in three Americans will get diabetes brings this problem to almost everyone’s attention. The problem with this breakthrough, however, is almost no one gets enough chromium in his or her diet. The three products with the most chromium are egg yolks, beef and brewer’s yeast. So, maybe your doctor should suggest you start every day with steak and eggs served with an ice-cold beer. But even these are not nearly enough in most people. Unfortunately, supplements have been slow in coming. Maybe this is why one in three people get diabetes. The biggest problem with developing supplements has been the absorption problem. Chromium is a very elusive element in the body. Only 0.4% to 2.5% of chromium taken is absorbed, which still leaves the body mostly deficient of it. Supplement developers have had a hard time finding the right way to present chromium, until now… The USDA developed a form in the mid-1990s called chromium picolinate, which they found to be the best absorbed form. In 1997, they sold off the patents to a company that has been working on perfecting it until last year when it was finally released in retail stores. Now, let me back up here. You may be thinking, “I thought chromium was bad for you.” And if you saw the movie Erin Brockovich, you’d be right. The polluted river in that movie contained high levels of hexavalent chromium, which is a very toxic and deadly form of chromium. In fact, there are many forms that shouldn’t be ingested in humans. And that is another problem these supplement companies were having. But chromium picolinate has been studied by the best and has proven to be extremely safe. Even high levels of chromium picolinate have been proven safe. People may be apprehensive of these products at first, but once they start seeing them more and more in stores such as Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreen’s, that uneasiness will subside. In fact, approximately 10 million people around the world already take chromium picolinate. That may not seem like a lot, but considering that it’s only been around for about a 15 months, that’s a considerable amount of people. With about 100 million people in America alone susceptible to diabetes, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of more about this. In fact, we recently found out that the supplement company that owns the right to this product is starting an ad campaign at the end of this month for more chromium picolinate awareness. This is indeed something that we will be watching for sometime… Sincerely, Jim Nelson P.S.: The supplement company we mentioned above has already jumped as much as 42% last week, but don’t worry it has a long way to go from here. Penny Stock Fortunes editor Greg Guenthner and I have been working on this company as a recommendation for his readers. It will be ready soon.
